Canadian Music Week with The Golden Dogs

The Golden Dogs
The Horseshoe Tavern
March 5, 2004
Having someone yell at you for not doing better than your best is often irritating. But somehow, it was encouraging coming from The Golden Dogs at the Horseshoe. Because that means they cared right? Right.

So the crowd wasn't rockin' out to singer Dave Azzolini's liking. That's okay, because the Dogs made up for it themselves charging through a good ? dozen songs before taking a break to acknowledge the crowd. It could've been that we were all just shielding ourselves from the sweat flying off the band. That's kinda gross you know. But when high-flying, gyrating, intoxicating adrenalizing rock happens, sweat happens. And when ear-popping, eye-bulging, chest-thumping, mind-blowing music surprises an audience, stupor happens.

So, blame it on the sweat, blame it on the bands excellent sense of fashion, blame it on a lack of booze, but the desire to rock was definitely there. Thank you Golden Dogs, for your passion, thank you for your shout outs, thank you for rocking. Next time we'll leave the industry people at the door; that oughta make the crowd move.
