New Zealand’s Brooke Fraser came back for a much-appreciated encore to Toronto on her Fall tour and the city has been better for it. Fraser has frequented our fair city 3 months in a row; the first in July kicking off the North American release of Albertine, in August with Australia’s Hillsong UNITED, and now in September bringing back her Albertine tour to a special few North American cities.

Brooke has amazing style, in July she was sporting a kitten shirt and now in black-rimmed glasses – she definitely likes being uniquely creative in her style. Fraser also has wide appeal because of her quirky openness with her audience, she’s not afraid to make mistakes, or talk at length to the crowd. She got the packed house singing to “O Canada” with red lights glistening off a disco ball overhead where Brooke commented, “wow, you guys are great! There must be a lot of Christian choirs in the audience, perfect harmony!” and she taught us all how to yodel to a Kings of Leon tune.

One of her final songs was “Arithmetic” from What To Do With Daylight which the audience sung along to and “C.S. Lewis Song” where the band did an amazing bass line with “hope is comin’ for us”. The beauty of her songs are that they’re so much like David’s psalms bittersweet and hopeful, cutting to the heart of humanity and therefore timeless crossing all borders. You’ll be "hooked on Brooke" when you get listening to her music and get to see her personality live – she’s a treasure both in talent and in character.
