Dear Bob Dylan and John Lee Hooker,

Thank you for cohabitating my spirit, and allowing me to write really kick-ass folky, bluegrass-type garage music. I know that I rocked out pretty hard with The Deadly Snakes so I'm really glad to be able to pour a little more soul (and a little less sweat) into my debut solo album.

I apologize, especially to you Mr. Dylan, if I may have borrowed a little too heavily from your style at times. But, as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? You'll be happy to know I've left the politics up to you, and opted instead for some clever tongue-in-cheek lyrics that I'm sure everyone will love. And Mr. Hooker, thanks for infusing me, a skinny white guy, with a remarkably authentic bluesy wail. I think people are really going to enjoy this CD. I've tried to make it honest and pure and I owe it all to both of you.

Andre Ethier

(Note: The above letter obviously wasn't written by Andre Ethier. But doesn't it make for a clever review?)
