Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia has made another album about victory in Christ and they always manage to make the subject fresh, the lyrics perceptive, and melodically inspirational for their listeners. This is a live album so you really get a sense of what it’s like to be in the Hillsong environment while you worship God. The album opens with a warrior cry of cheers and an instantly hummable melody that kicks the album into high gear instantly sung by Joel Houston.

Brooke Fraser and Jill McCloghry sing “Desert Song”, which is true faith breathed through words “this is my prayer in the desert/when all that’s within me feels dry/this is my prayer in my hunger and need/my God is the God who provides.” Another excellent lyrical instance on the track, “No weapon formed against me shall remain/I will rejoice I will declare/God is my victory and He is here.”

Further in the album there’s a brilliant song called “Healer” which was written and sung by Mike Guglielmucci. This review had previously stated Mike had cancer of which Mike has since admitted he did not have cancer, but used the lie as a cover for his own shame of his pornography addiction. The song "Healer" is still excellently written and while its meaning may not be about Mike's cancer, it is a brilliant illustration that all darkness will be brought to light and that Jesus brings it to light in order to heal the person, so they can get honest before God as we all should too. Like all of us, we need to be healed of something, just maybe not what we thought. Jesus is an all-sufficient Savior and died for Mike, you, and I to bring us freedom from our shame, so lets pray for Mike and for our shame to be brought to light so we too may get honest before God and be healed by Jesus' capable hands and all-sufficient sacrifice. Definitely an album worth checking out to fuel your faith and delight in the quality arrangements Hillsong Church has been blessed to provide us from their faith in Christ.
