Album Title: Opposite Way
Release Date: February 26, 2008
Genre: Pop/Rock
They say you can tell if a band has talent if their sophomore album is as good or better than their first album; Leeland have done just that with Opposite Way. Where Sound of Melodies left off reaching out to God, this time it’s more about positioning ourselves in Him. Knowing Leeland Mooring writes songs as revelations it’s no surprise that the creative messaging he’s received from above is worth its weight in gold. The opening track “Count Me In” is exciting and kicks off the album with high praise and motivation and "Wake Up" drives to the core of Opposite Way with lines like "We need to wake up...live like God, pour out love". "Beginning and the End" is an encouraging track for those of us who need to be reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 daily and is one of the more mellow tracks on the album.

Normally the title track slips behind, but with Leeland’s “Opposite Way”, it’s one of the most standout tracks on the album. The lyrics are narrative and emphatic and that’s what works; mixed with Leeland’s authenticity and God’s truth you can’t go wrong. Opposite Way is a concept album in many ways (no pun intended) saying “God created you unique; don't be afraid to stand out in His name”. Definitely worth pumping up on your stereo and reflecting on the verses as devotional nuggets throughout your day.
