Hailing from a little Ontario town that snuggles up next to Canada’s one and only neighbour, the Trench Town Oddities is one of those bands born out of a random jam session. Thus the inception of TTO came about fairly quickly—and so did the quartet’s debut album, Days & Nights, completed in just eight months. Granted, the record is barely half an hour long and features just eight songs. But it’s enough to get the point across. The Trench Town Oddities come across as fairly laidback Canadian dudes that spend a couple nights a week participating in random jam sessions. Lead singer Sean Harley has got those familiar sandpapery rock vocals and drummer Todd Harrington provides beats perfect for gently tapping your foot to (gently, so as not to spill your beer). And that’s what the half hour of Days & Nights provides—music to drink beer to in a little bar somewhere in one of Canada’s many little border towns.
