Walt Ribeiro

Talk about ambition. Walt Ribeiro is a New Jersey guy who wrote a achingly beautiful score to be played by an 80 piece orchestra. To those who don't know, it's a little expensive for the pros and tough to find 80 of your closest friends who know how to play everything from strings to the piano flawlessly. So instead of feeling crushed a la Mr. Holland's Opus, the 22 year old Ribeiro produced, mixed, composed and orchestrated all 80 parts himself using digital software.

Ribeiro says of the CD, "Öyears ago this CD would have been out of reach - both financially and technically - we are now at the point where a composer can release the music he or she hears and have the world enjoy it." This debut CD shows a lot of promise for such a young composer and it's a wonder his efforts can be appreciated, classical lovers will dive right into this project.
