Album Title: Empty Room
Release Date: November 2006
Genre: Pop/Rock
From backup singer to solo artist, Toronto's Rayna has made her recording debut with Empty Room. With just seven songs and a running time under half an hour, the album reads more like an EP, but in this case it's more than enough time for Rayna to present what she's got to offer. With deep, robust vocals, Rayna keeps her tunes on the dark and ballady side. It's apparent the songstress reaches into the deepest parts of her own heart when penning lyrics. Case in point, "Forget Me": "Throw me away, there's nothing left for me to say / Forget me, I'm sure it will be easy." That said, it's probably best to leave Empty Room for those times when you've locked yourself in a dark room and refuse to leave it for a nine days straight. Then Rayna can help you get your angsty depression on.
