There's nothing more inspiring than a trip down Acid Lane…which is exactly what it feels like to listen to the latest from The Vines. The dirty abandon of grunge steps aside on Winning Days to make room for a fluid psychedelic sound – but keeps the energy on 'high.' Think "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Punk Band." It's an album that veritably takes on a life of its own; music swelling and retreating like a steady breath. One minute you're rockin' out like the baddest mofo in town, the next you're swaying hypnotically and thinking about clouds. Though he's probably consuming in excess, it's hard not to thank God for whatever Craig Nicholls is smoking. It's albums like these that can make people believe in rock again.
