Album Title: Generations
Release Date: October 11, 2005
Genre: Rock
The cover of Generations says it allůa cheesy space backdrop on which a winged scarab depicted in eye-melting Day-Glo Orange stakes its claim. Giant guitar riffs, earnest vocals, and emotional lyrics are what Journey has always been about, and that's all that's to be found on the 14-track album. Generations won't earn the '80s band anymore fans (although it might gain them a few more haters) but that's not what Journey is worried about anyways. After all these years and member switch-ups, all they're worried about is pleasing those people who have always stuck with them, the people who go crazy over their music and hire a Journey cover band to play at their wedding. Because when you're the favourite band of the character John "J.D." Dorian from Scrubs, it's inconsequential whether or not the people who love the Arctic Monkeys dig you too.
