If the guys in Turnstiles are as easygoing as their music sounds, I want to meet them. Listening to their debut album, 13 Telephone Towers, is like watching a great bad at a bar with your friends. If you don't know the words, you'll wish you did because then you could sing along. Sometimes their songs make you want to dance, and sometimes you just can't help it.

The music on the Moncton, NB band's album is fun, different and sometimes unusual, and that's what makes it good. "Better off Lost" and "Failure to Thrive" are good examples. They go beyond the usual rock sound to create something just a little offbeat. Some tracks sound like classic rock songs, such as "Ride On" and the title track. And the rest of the songs are a combination of innovative and memorable rock/pop tunes.

Turnstiles sounds like it would be a great live band, because they'd be fun to watch. They use a lot of different sounds, from piano to rock and roll guitar. The band's originality and talent make them a refreshing addition to the Maritime music scene.
