Album Title: Virgin Ubiquity Remixed
Release Date: 2004
Rating:
Genre: Electronic/R & B Remixes
Virgin Ubiquity Remixed is a collection of songs by jazz/funk superstar, Roy Ayers. In the 1960s, Roy Ayers was one of the prominent jazz vibraphone musicians of his time, and in the 1970s and 80s he took control of jazz/funk and R&B. Today, he is still considered one of the foremost acid jazz musicians ever.

This album is a tribute to Ayers. It takes ten of his classics and remixes each one, using different artists who put their own spin on each track.

It's difficult to compare remixed tracks to the originals, since there is nothing like the original. But at the same time, it is interesting to hear how other artists approach his music. Remixes will always sound more manufactured, but Ayers' songs are easier to mold than, say a slow love song. These songs make you want to get up and dance, and enjoy Ayers in a whole new light.
