Andrew Hanna

Album Title: Without Blinds
Release Date: December 3, 2005
Genre: Pop/Rock
Andrew Hanna is young, good looking, and plays the guitar. His music is sweet, driven by acoustic pop sensibilities and capped by thin, sensitive vocals. These are the usual offerings of a singer songwriter imbued with saccharine romanticism whose target audience is the lovelorn female set. Songs like "Stay the night" and "Photo Album" are wrapped in sepia toned slow mo sentimentality. Most of the songs depend solely on acoustic guitars and a vapid melodic line that unfortunately become indistinct and forgettable. Sometimes musical simplicity isn't such a good thing especially if the bones of the songs are mediocre at best. Fortunately Hanna is still in the early part of his career with room to grow. But if he doesn't evolve musically, he risks branding himself as just another coffee shop singer and a purveyor of lacklustre adult contemporary.
