Houston Calls

Album Title: A Collection of Short Stories
Release Date: August 2, 2005
Genre: Rock
Colleted from various towns in New Jersey, the members of Houston Calls pulled together and put their debut longplayer, A Collection of Short Stories, on shelves last summer. In such a fickle musical climate as the one we currently reside in, music doesn't have that long of a shelf life, but lucky for the quartet their sound is hitting its peak right about now. I hate to pull this move, especially since their album has been out for so long, but man, does Houston Calls sound like Panic! At The Discoˇand by association, Fallout Boyˇon "Bob and Bonnie" (especially thanks to the strained vocals). However, the band has more of a poppy feel due to the summery guitars and quick bass, and if the fickleness of the industry decides to hold its temperature for just a moment, Houston Calls could be one of the bands that benefits.
