Now here's a band that doesn't fancy messing about with things in the studio. Sounding like it was recorded live-off-the-floor, Air Traffic Control's eponymous debut sounds a little fuzzy, a little off-kilter, and consequently, in need of some tightening. Well, actually, it would only be in need of some tightening if the Comstock boys (two brothers, one cousin) were trying to be the next Nickelback. As it were, the 13-track album is wonderfully loose (in a non-pretentious-indie way) and possesses that awesome power of making the listener really want to see the band live. No previously uncharted land is discovered on Air Traffic Control, but it provides for a jolly good Average Joe Canadian time.
