Collin Herring

Album Title: The Other Side of Kindness
Release Date: 2004
Genre: Alt-County
It's fairly safe to assume that most people, at least once in their life, have wondered if they have a doppelganger out there somewhere (I know I have). Next time Canadian songstress Kathleen Edwards ventures down Texas way, she might just find hers Collin Herring. Of course, the giant slip in this whole doppelganger theory is that Herring is male. Small matter though.

His raspy, low-register, drawling vocals are such a perfect match for Edwards that the two of them should seriously consider doing a few collabos. Plenty of pedal steel, fiddle, and mopey lyrics are found on The Other Side of Kindness, but it's not a traditional country album by any means., noir country, Southern rockówhatever you want to call itóHerring's sophomore effort deserves a few spins from those with a penchant for the sounds of slide.
