The Blue Raincoats

Album Title: The Blue Raincoats
Release Date: September 27, 2005
Genre: Pop/Rock
After leading bands Imaginary Heaven and Hush Hush, Ontario artist Keri Steele has decided to go it alone as the Blue Raincoats. With the volume turned up on her crystal clear voice, Steele has pushed past the traditional "syrupy solo female singer/songwriter" mould with her solo debut. Living in the neighbouring village to Lisa Loeb-land which is just a few miles from Veruca Salt-ville, Steele obviously has a variety of influences contributing to her sound. Steele's vocals is the connective tissue that makes The Blue Raincoats is a cohesive mix, but the songs range from jazz lounge ("Childhood") to stripped-down singer/songwriter ("Wasting Time", "Nice Holidays") to chipper power pop ("Red Suitcase").
