Album Title: Lost In This EP
Release Date: June 29, 2005
Genre: Rock
You've got to have guts to take on a classic tune like Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game". Often referred to as one of the sexiest songs with one of the sexiest videos around, Issak's version of the tune is filled with lust and longing. Khierstin's version, not so much. While not entirely terrible, Khierstin's version of "Wicked Game" is one of those covers that sets the listener off in search for the original. Billed as "rock & roll's next new sound", Khierstin is a five-piece band fronted by a 19-year-old former model. With the odds so stacked against them making it in the exclusive rock world, the band would be a smarter alternative to Ashlee Simpson fans still reeling from the shock of the starlet's SNL disaster. As far as a person can tell from a press release, the efforts of Khierstin (and the band's namesake's manager mom) are mostly earnest and the Lost In This EP can easily be listened to without inducing a gag reflex. Lost and searching Simpson fans will eat Khierstin up, as long as they can spell the name.
