Valery Gore

Album Title: Valery Gore
Release Date: April 2005
Genre: Pop
Her piano possesses as much personality as Valery Gore herself, and that's saying something. Both Gore's vocals and piano arrangements are bright and sparkling, even when she slows things down like in ballad "A Leaving Car". Her ability to bring life to somewhat sleepy lyrics (in a good way) is shown once again in the stand-out "Augustine". The harmonies and punchy piano on the track place Gore among the high ranks of Sarah Slean for quirky, pop genius, if only for a moment. If not bursting with complete originality (but what is these days), Valery Gore is a smashing debut overflowing with personality and pizzazz to boot. It shouldn't be ignored.
