Shotgun Rules

Album Title: Estimated Time of Arrival
Release Date: November 7, 2004
Rating:
Genre: Emo
Where to begin, where to begin, where to begin. Well, Shotgun Rules are certainly emotive. Using the template established by Poison The Well, Refused, and Alexisonfire, this outfit assaults the senses÷ and then screams about it. Yup. "Estimated Time of Arrival" is the band's debut EP and it's a five pack of tunes that could kill plant matter. While the sound of Shotgun Rules is predictably predictable, right down to the last pluck, it's got energy and angst, meaning its probably got a market somewhere. Best track? "Thank You Gravity", a tuneful slice of post-modern squirm that shows potentially radio friendly hooks beneath the curdle. Otherwise, as above.
