This Providence

Album Title: Our Worldís Divorce
Release Date: October 12, 2004
Genre: Rock
To be blunt, this album is a bit of a waste. This Providence are a bland modern rock outfit from Seattle who sound like a cross between Maroon 5 and A Simple Plan. Unfortunately, they don't share those bands' ability to pen super catchy, radio-friendly pop and thusly, their debut album, Our World's Divorce, sounds flimsy and redundant. There are moments This Providence sounds like they want to bust out into a heavier sphere but they always settle back down into the safety net of MOR modern rock tripe. What's most, there's a mysterious skittering noise that's persistent through out this record. Maybe my speakers were blown or something but it sounds like a treated electric jug or cheap synth trick. Either way, this is boring music by a boring. Not badójust boring.
