The Doers Are Ready and Set

Published: 2004-08-06
Hailing from Vancouver, the Doers are all set to drag their "folk-punk-soft-math-rock" across this rather large landmass. The three-piece will be travelling across Canada in order to spread the word about their upcoming album 'Ready, Set…Do'. The record is set to be released on September 14th through Scratch Records.

The band will celebrate the release of their debut album by holding release parties in both Vancouver and Victoria, which also double as the start of their cross-country jaunt. So far, the Doers have 27 performances scheduled that see them go from their edge of the West Coast to the far end of the East Coast and everywhere in between. More gigs are likely to pop up, so check the Doers' website at for constant updates.

Many of the Doers shows include a variety of other Canadian acts on the bill. These other Canadian acts would include the likes of the Frenetics, the Fake Cops and Robosexuals, among others.

Although the Doers are just over one year old, they're already well established in the Vancouver scene. This is probably because the three members of the Doers have already made a name for themselves through other means. Sean, Barry and Jeff of STATIONa (a four-piece that released 3 LPs) rose from the ashes of their former band to form the Doers. So, in reality, the Doers are much more like seasoned veterans than the newbies they might appear to be at first glance.
