The Delgados Release Album & Tour

Published: 2004-08-05
Scottish band the Delgados will be stopping in Canada for two dates on their North America tour. The four-piece will kick off their 18 date tour in Montreal on October 22nd before carrying on to Toronto the following day. Whether or not it's of any importance, it's always good to know that the indie pop group will be taking Halloween off to enjoy the festivities. That or they'll be driving from Salt Lake City to Seattle.

The occasion that calls the Delgados to this side of the Atlantic is the impending release of their fifth studio album. The record is called 'Universal Audio' and will be released on September 28th in North America. 'Everybody Come Down' has been chosen to be the first single off the disc, and is slated to drop earlier on in September.

Speaking of 'Universal Audio', the band had this to say through their website: "Universal Audio … represents something of a departure from the orchestral-heavy darkness of 2002's 'Hate'. Before all you orchestra-philes start bubbling into your soup - take heart: the new album is a big, stomping beast of an affair - guitars and vocals to the fore and by all accounts, it's our long-awaited 'pop' album."
