The Incredible Speed of The Strokes

Published: 2004-08-03
New York rockers the Strokes have stepped up their game and recently announced that they have two albums in the works. One of the records is the follow-up to 2003's 'Room On Fire'. This might come as a bit of a shock to some fans as there was over a two year gap between the Strokes' debut and second full-length release.

According to an interview with Britain's NME, the new record is to have a completely different feel from the Strokes' previous work. Even though the Strokes will create a new sound for their album, they've decided to work once again with producer Gordon Raphael. The band hopes to have the album finished and ready for fans to get their hands on by spring of 2005.

The other album that the five-piece will put into being is a live disc. The songs that will appear on the live album were recorded in London in December of 2003. Rumour has it that the record will drop sometime in October of this year.

In other Strokes news, the band is preparing to release their third single off of 'Room on Fire'. 'The End Has No End' follows previous singles '12:51' and 'Reptilia', and work has already started on the video. According to the band's site, Strokes manager Ryan Gentles is the star of the upcoming promo.
