Published: 2004-07-29
Over the years the city on the edge of the Mississippi River known as The Big Easy has produced some of history's most notable music. The Shout Factory has compiled the most definitive collection of music that is from New Orleans. The four disc package "Doctors, Professors, Kings & Queens Big Ol' Box of New Orleans" contains 85 tracks of music from Louis Armstrong to Buckwheat Zydeco. The "line notes" that accompany the set are fit for the coffee table with a collection of essays and sidebars providing a guided tour of New Orleans complete with history, myths, and an insiders view of some of New Orleans more colourful establishments.

"Doctors, Professors, Kings & Queens Big Ol' Box of New Orleans" according to executive producer Gary Stewart, "it's one big mess, and we like it like that." The set will be out October 5.
