Cash is 'UnEarthed'

Published: 2003-12-01
The great man in black has left us but his music lives on both old and new. Over the last decade of his life Johnny Cash spent a great deal of time in the studio recording anything and everything he wanted from gospel to country and even rock. During that time only four albums were released. A new CD set containing some of those songs is being released. The five CD set includes duets with country music legend Carl Perkins, rocker Tom Petty, Fiona Apple, Nick Cave, and Joe Strummer. The CD set called "Unearthed" contains a few previously released songs, some new versions of old Cash Tunes, and numerous new songs. However: the set does not even touch the numerous songs Cash wrote and recorded after the death of his wife June Carter Cash last May.

The great man in black is gone but we haven't heard the last of him.
