Falconhawk Tours Canada

Published: 2004-07-15
Canadian band Falconhawk is set to embark on a cross-country tour this summer. The trio will be hitting 15 different Canadian cities after they kick off July 15th in Toronto. The record the band will be supporting during these dates is 'Hotmouth', which was released this February.

In addition to 'Hotmouth' being Falconhawk's latest effort, it is also the band's first full-length album. The thirteen-track album was released via Catch and Release records, an indie label from the band's hometown of Calgary.

While many bands these days seem to leave the bass out of their music equation, Falconhawk opted to drop guitars. It would seem a very gutsy move to do such a thing, but Falconhawk is able to rise above the loss. In place of guitars, lead singer Kara Keith provides the unmistakeable sounds of the synth. Rounding out the band is Dave Alcock behind the kit, and newcomer Steve Elaschuk on bass. This will be Elaschuk's first tour with Falconhawk; he just replaced former bassist Mark Rudd at the end of June.

Falconhawk's upcoming shows:

July 25 Toronto – Wavelength at Sneaky D's
July 26 Guelph – Outside Brew Ha Ha
July 27 Waterloo – The Grad House
July 29 Peterborough – Trasheteria
