Avril Lavigne Snubs Britian's Prince Charles

Published: 2004-07-13
It would appear that Canadian pop rebel Avril Lavigne has learned the fine art of a snobby diva. Lavigne was one of the performers at Capital FM's Party in the Park in London. The event was a charity function for Prince Charles' trust in Hyde Park.

Performers were to meet the heir to the crown after the event. R&B artist Jamelia and Lavigne were scheduled to sit on either side of His Highness. Just hours before the event Lavigne announced that she would not stay past her performance sending organizers into a panic and searching for a replacement for Lavigne. The original Pop Idol winner Will Young was chosen for the honour. Young was more than willing and thrilled at the decision.

Lavigne even had fans barred from taking photographs of her as she walked onto the stage. Lavigne claims to be very shy and does not approve of "publicity stunts" and so avoided the honour of meeting His Highness Prince Charles. It would appear that Lavigne needs to find a new line of work if she disapproves of photos, a meet and greet, or so called "publicity stunts".
