The Rapture is Live on DVD

Published: 2004-07-13
The high energy live performance of NYC band the Rapture is now available for your very own viewing pleasure. On June 28th, the punk-funk band released a full-length DVD of recent performance footage. The brilliantly named 'The Rapture Is Live And, Well, In New York City' was directed by Patrick Daughters, who also created the striking video for Yeah Yeah Yeahs' single 'Maps'.

The concert footage included on the DVD was taken from three shows that the Rapture performed at the Bowery Ballroom. The gigs took place last year, just before Christmas, so crowd and band alike are both probably very cheery. Also included on the disc are videos for songs 'House of Jealous Lovers', 'Sister Saviour' and 'Love is All' (which is the band's latest single).

Last time the Rapture passed through Canada was in April 2004, when the four-piece performed in both Montreal and Toronto. No plans for future Canadian dates have been released at this time. Although, like hundreds of other bands this summer, the Rapture will be appearing at music festivals all around the continent of Europe.
