Steppenwolf Refuses Paris Hilton on 'The Simple Life'

Published: 2004-07-07
Television princess and socialite Paris Hilton is not used to hearing the word 'no' when she wants something. But that is exactly what she heard from Steppenwolf member John Kay. Hilton wanted to use the Steppenwolf song "Born to Be Wild" in her television show "The Simple Life". Kay said no without a second thought. "There are certain things even a rock and roller will not stoop to, and this is one of them," said Kay.

"Born to Be Wild" along with other Steppenwolf songs appear on the soundtrack for the 1969 film "Easy Rider".

Thank You Mr. Kay for your respect to your Steppenwolf classic "Born To Be Wild" 1968. I remember it was used in the flim "Flashback" which was a good satire on the "hippie lifestyle"

The song and the film first used in "Easy Rider" means alot emotionally to many folks out there.
Paris is in the "please go away catagory".

Take care
