Three Dog Night Release Greatest Hits

Published: 2004-06-30
After 36 years of making music and two decades of hits "One" is still a lonely number for the rock group Three Dog Night. Irish born Danny Hutton and Americans Corey Wells and Chuck Negron found a rock group with three lead singers in the late 60s. The band took their name from an Australian aboriginal expression that refers to a particularly freezing night.

Between the years of 1969 and 1974 Three Dog Night had 21 top 40 hits. Despite all of the hits on the singles chart Three Dog Night did not consider themselves to be a singles band. "We never released a single," said Corey Wells. "We released albums. The public picked the singles." "The songs come from everywhere," said Danny Hutton. "Our focus was on good music, instead of a theme."

When Three dog Night tour, they see it as their job to take people back to the 70s. This time around touring also means promoting a just released album "Three Dog Night: The Complete Hits Singles" The new CD is a compilation of the band's greatest hits.

"Joy to the World" with "An Old Fashioned Love Song" was never "Black and White" for "One" Three Dog Night.
