Musical Golfer Scores With EMI

Professional golfer Craig Matthew has found a way to combine his love of music and his profession. The 28 year old Point Claire native is also a guitar player, although he does not do so professionally. Matthew as signed with EMI Canada to advertise a few of the labels artists on his golf shirts. This marks the second year that Matthew has signed a sponsorship deal with the record company.

"I just love that I can combine my two passions music and golf," said Matthew. "It's such an original idea. I'm always interested in doing something different."

This year Matthew sports shirts advertising graphics from:

"Baptism" by Lenny Kravitz
"Pet Sounds DVD-A" by The Beach Boys
"Schmack" by Steriogram
"Cupid" by Stabilo
"Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard

Matthew chooses the bands he wishes to advertise. EMI poses no restrictions on the golfer. Matthew says that he chooses bands and music by how it suits the way his golf game is going.

Matthew only promotes the bands by wearing a shirt covered in the album graphics. He does not sell the CDs on tour. New this year is a page at Puretracks ( where Matthew recommends his favourite tunes; which so far are only EMI artists.
