Mum's Unique Sound Makes Summer Good

Published: 2004-06-23
The Icelandic band Mum have made their mark on the music world with non-traditional music and recording methods. Their latest album "Summer Make Good" was recorded on tape entirely by the band. An old lighthouse was used for much of the recording process. Along with the instruments and vocals Mum uses randomly recorded sound from nature or the world around them as a part of the music. Boiling water, a blowing wind, or waves slapping against a boat become an added element to the song.

Mum who will be in Canada on Thursday and Friday prefer Canada to the US. Canada has a much better feeling to it they say.
