Tal Bachman Seeks To Reclaim High Chart Position

Published: 2004-06-22
For many teenagers playing music in a band is a form of rebellion. But for Tal Bachman it was just the opposite. He tried not to become a musician. Tal is the son of Canadian rock icon Randy Bachman. At one point Tal even played drums in one of his Dad's bands.

On July 20 Juno Award winning Tal Bachman will release his new album "Staring Down the Sun". Trying to recapture some former glory and not be one of the one hit wonders, Bachman has already released two singles from the new album.

In 1999 the single "She's So High" hit the number one spot in Canada. The single stayed at the top spot for four weeks. More recently Norwegian and World Idol winner Kurt Nilsen released his version of "She's So High" which shot to the number one spot and set a record by remaining at the top of the Norwegian charts for nine weeks. The album containing the single debuted at number one in Norway. "I got lucky," said Bachman, "I didn't imagine the song would snowball again."
