Although he is the recent winner of three Much Music Video Awards, Sam Roberts is taking no time to bask in the glory. As per usual Roberts and his band will be busy-busy touring all around the country, and even heading to the UK this summer. Not only will the Sam Roberts Band be playing around the world, they will also be working on their new record.
The band was recently in the Bathouse, a recording studio owned by the Tragically Hip. Roberts and crew worked on new ideas for the next album during the ten days they spent there. Although Roberts finds it hard to write while touring, the record is bound to be finished sooner or later.
Apparently regular touring was getting a little boring for Sam Roberts and Co. so they've decided to spice it up a bit, giving rise to a mini Canadian festival in all their creativity.
Sam Roberts and his band will be headlining a show they've organised with fellow Canadians Sloan. 'Hot August Night' is set to take place on Toronto's Olympic Island on August 7th and will showcase some of Canada's top musical acts. In addition to the Sam Roberts Band and Sloan, the line-up for the gig includes: Death From Above, Arcade Fire, Buck 65, the Constantines, and the Stills. Tickets for 'Hot August Night' are available through Ticketmaster.
