The Raveonettes Head Back To The Studio

Published: 2004-06-18
Danish duo the Raveonettes are heading back into the recording studio to commence work on their third studio album. The pair has amassed 50 songs which they will then whittle down to the select few that will appear on the next record. According to the Raveonettes, the tunes that they are considering for the as-yet-untitled album are much 'dancier' than the sound of their previous record.

So far the Raveonettes, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Sune Rose Wagner and bassist/vocalist Sharin Foo, have released two albums. Their debut album called 'Whip It On', introduced the Raveonettes to the music world and caused many to begin drooling over the band before their sophomore release appeared on the horizon.

One year later, in 2003, the Raveonettes released 'Chain Gang of Love'. The 13 track album that featured their distorted garage rock allowed the duo to tour around the world. In addition to headlining their own shows, the Raveonettes have opened for garage rock kings the Strokes, among others, and have made appearances at festivals around the world, including a stint at Glastonbury this year.

The Raveonettes are coming back to North America to play a few dates in August, but unfortunately will not be hitting any Canadian cities this time around.
