Free Music Lesson From Yellowcard

Just when you thought school was over and it's time for some fun, the boys in Yellowcard have an assignment for you. Write an essay on the importance of music education in the schools and you could win a music lesson from Yellowcard.

With money short everywhere, music programs in schools are the first items to get cut. But music is important. Yellowcard is sponsoring a contest where entrants write an essay of 200 words or less describing why they think music education is important. The winner will receive a music lesson from the band in their school. Essays will be judged on creativity and the importance of music education. The contest deadline is June 30 and is open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 24. For entry information and contest rules go to
