Sum 41 Caught Up In War Torn Congo

Published: 2004-06-09
Members of the Canadian band Sum 41 traveled to the Congo in Africa to film a documentary about the affects of war on innocent civilians. In the process Sum 41 and the documentary crew became what they were filming when the group became trapped when fighting broke out. Fortunately no one in the band or film crew was injured but they were quickly evacuated from the war torn area.

Since 1998 more than three million people have been killed because of a civil war between the government and a renegade commander's troops. Most of those killed were women and children who were not even involved in the fighting.

Members of Sum 41 are convinced now even more that war is a stupid part of life and more must be done to prevent it.
