Goth pioneers The Cure are launching a tour of North America this summer. "The Curiosa Festival 2004" is more like a traveling road show where different acts will perform at each venue. Cities for the tour have been announced, but not all venues have been confirmed. The tour is also continuing to add more dates.

Scheduled to join The Cure on the primary stage are Interpol, the Rapture, and Mogwai. A second stage will be used where Muse, Thursday, Cursive, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Cooper Temple Clause, and Head Automatica will take turns entertaining audiences.

Singer – songwriter Robert Smith is the only original member of The Cure still performing with the band which was formed in 1976 in Crawley, Sussex, England.

A few days after The Cure begins their tour, the band will release their new album on June 29.

So far The Cure's only Canadian performance is in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheatre on August 9. Tickets range from CA $25.50 - CA $85.50 and can be purchased through ticketmaster.
