Fake Cops On Stage

Published: 2004-06-04
Working their way up the ladder of Canadian music, Calgary's Fake Cops will be playing numerous dates in select cities. The Cops will be hitting Vancouver, Edmonton and their hometown of Calgary (Go Flames Go!) at least two times each during the months of June and July. In August the band is set to tour the much more alluring and mystical side of Canada – dates for the Eastern tour have yet to be announced.

During that scouring tour of the two most western provinces, the Fake Cops will be playing material off of their freshly pressed EP. 'Absolutely Your Credit is Excellent, But in a Certain Way We Also Need Cash' is the long winded title of the record which was released this February on indie label Mockingbird Records. The EP contains five songs, including 'Sir, You're Not Blowing', which is available for download on the band's site at www.fakecops.com.

The music that the Fake Cops create is full of the type of raw energy that is best experienced at live shows. Loud, proud and completely unapologetic, the four members of the Fake Cops play neo-punk in the vein of New York hipsters Stellastarr*. Maybe a bit wilder, but you get the general idea.

The Fake Cops' upcoming shows:

June 10 Calgary – Broken City
June 11 Calgary – Carpenter's Union Hall
June 12 Edmonton – Queen Alex Hall
June 13 Red Deer – TBA
June 19 Calgary – Brew Brothers
July 1 Vancouver – The Underwear Farm
July 2 Vancouver – The Cobalt Club
July 3 Vancouver – Logan's
July 10 Lethbridge – TBA
July 23 Edmonton – New City
July 24 Calgary – The Night Gallery
July 25 Calgary – The Legion
