Steppenwolf Singer Gets Star on Canadian Walk of Fame

One of the biggest anthems in America "Born to Be Wild" was sung not by an American, but a Canadian. John Kay of Steppenwolf is a Canadian hippie who is finally going to get his due. On June 23, Kay is one of the celebrities who will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto. Kay will be inducted by Peter Fonda, actor in the film "Easy Rider" which made famous the song "Born to Be Wild".

For John Kay fans who cannot wait for the Walk of Fame induction, Kay is releasing a new album on June 1. The 2001 album "Heretics and Privateers" is being re-issued. A concert DVD "John Kay and Friends" is also being released on June 1.
