American Bandstand Returns

Published: 2004-05-25
For over 30 years Dick Clark had teen-agers and young adults dancing to the most popular tunes of the day. Now with the help of Idol creator Simon Fuller and Mosaic Media Group the world's oldest teen-ager will once again see American Bandstand come to life. Clark, who is considered the father of American music television – said that he can't think of a better partner than Simon Fuller to make Bandstand a dream come true.

Dick Clark started American Bandstand in Philadelphia in 1952. In 1957 the show went national. The weekly dance show launched many a rock star career and made famous the phrase "it's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to".

Producers are hoping to launch the new Bandstand in all of its glory and with a twenty-first century twist in the summer of 2005.
