Four Live Bjork Releases

Published: 2004-05-25
Next Tuesday (also known as June 1st) will see the release of four live Bjork albums. Originally packaged as a box set, the four records were first dropped in the summer of last year. Now Bjork fans have the opportunity to purchase each of the components on its own.

Never one to follow the crowd, Bjork's new releases are also quite unique compared to most other artists' live albums. Instead of the releases containing a mixed sampling of her back catalogue, the records are actually live companions to four of Bjork's best loved albums. 'Debut', 'Post', 'Homogenic' and 'Vespertine' all find themselves given a rebirth unto the music world.

The recordings of Bjork's performances featured on the four albums were taken from shows all across the globe. Audiences from cities like England, Spain, New York, London, Prague, Vienna, and Montreaux will be able to hear themselves screaming for the elfin princess again and again (if they purchase the albums that is).

The records that the live albums recreate span the entirety of Bjork's solo career; only a few albums were omitted from the live treatment. Among those albums is Bjork's true debut which was simply titled 'Bjork'. Seeing as the album was released when she was just 11 years old, and is probably something she would most likely want to forget, it's easy to see just why it's missing.
