Eric Clapton To Launch Summer Tour

Published: 2004-05-19
Legendary British rocker and blues player "slow hand" Eric Clapton will spend the summer on the road with Mr. Johnson. Clapton's latest album, which was released March 30, "Me and Mr. Johnson" is the guitarist's version of works by the blues master from Mississippi.

While it is a given that Clapton will perform songs from his new album, do not expect to hear him play "Tears in Heaven". Clapton has said that he no longer has the same feeling he had about his son when he wrote the song and feels that he can no longer perform the piece. Clapton wrote "Tears in Heaven" after his four year old son Connor died in a fall. Clapton's biggest selling album to date is from the Unplugged concert on MTV.

Eric Clapton's 29 city summer tour includes only one Canadian show.

July 7 Toronto – Air Canada Center
July 9 Buffalo – HSBC Arena
