Kraftwerk to Re-master Older Albums

Published: 2004-05-13
Fans of the German techno group Kraftwerk will have the opportunity to update their collections. The members of Kraftwerk are back in the studio, not to record a new album; but to re-master all of the older ones including the albums that have previously been available only as UK imports.

Four of the band's 10 albums are nearly ready for release – "Autobahn", the debut album "Kraftwerk 1", the follow-up "Kraftwerk 2", and "Ralf and Florian". To accompany the re-released albums, Kraftwerk is attempting to round up the old graphics and photos that appeared on the original albums. The re-mastered albums will contain a few bonus tracks, but Kraftwerk was not known to record extra material or numerous versions of songs for their albums.

Albums scheduled for later release are "Radio Activity", "Trans-Europe Express", "The Man Machine", and "Computer World". Kraftwerk will also re-release "Electric CafÈ" but will release the album under its original title of "Techno Pop". The album will be released with the original graphics and album design as well.
