Los Lobos On Tour

"The album is a special thing for us… it's even better than getting a Grammy," said bassist Conrad Lozano of Los Lobos. The album Lozano was talking about is "The Ride", the newest release by the band. "The Ride" marks 30 years of making music for the band and features appearances by stars like Elvis Costello, Bobby Womack, Tom Waits, and Ruben Blades.

Los Lobos – Spanish for The Wolves – was formed from school friends in East Los Angeles. This band is essentially a Latino band that does not sound like a Latino band. As a result Los Lobos has not had the following one would expect from Latino fans. Oddly enough the bands second of three Grammy Awards was for an album of Mexican folk songs and the band's biggest selling single was a cover of Richie Valens' "La Bamba".

To celebrate their thirtieth anniversary Los Lobos is embarking on a tour.
