ëYellow Submarineí in Book Form

Published: 2004-05-05
The Beatles' film 'Yellow Submarine' is set to become a children's book. Release is set for sometime in September, and the book will be published by Walker Books. This is all happening in agreement with Apple Corps Ltd., the company the Beatles started long ago in the sixties. Coincidentally this announcement comes at the same time Sir Paul McCartney, former Beatle, told the world he will be writing and publishing his own children's book. Sir Paul's book is to be called 'High In The Clouds'.

It's been long enough since the film's release in 1968 to consider 'Yellow Submarine' a film classic. Although the cartoon caricatures of the Beatles were not voiced by John, Paul, Ringo or George, the boys provided one kick ass soundtrack to the film, which included, 'Yellow Submarine' and 'All You Need Is Love', among other classics. George Martin, famed Beatles producer, created the orchestral score of the film, for which he was nominated for a Grammy.

The Blue Meanies and far-out lands featured in 'Yellow Submarine' create a psychedelic adventure best viewed while on strong hallucinogenic drugs. Let's hope the book does not promote similar usage whilst reading.
