K.D. Lang to Release New Album in July

Besides spending the next several months on a tour that will include orchestral shows and a cruise, Canadian songstress K.D. Lang is preparing to release a new album in July. "Hymns of the 49th Parallel" is a non-orchestral collection of songs by Lang's favourite Canadian songwriters. The album includes songs from Canadian legends Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Songs by Leonard Cohen, Bruce Cockburn, and Ron Sexsmith also appear on the album which will be released July 27. Lang will be performing songs from the new album on the tour along with music from her entire catalogue.

Lang began a 39 city tour last Friday (April 30) which will bring her to seven Canadian cities.
