Il Divo Release New Album This Fall

Published: 2008-08-11
Pop-opera quartet Il Divo is getting set for a new album out this fall. The fearsome foursome was put together by American Idol judge Simon Cowell in December 2003. The international pop band is made up of Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, Tenors - Swiss Urs Buhler, American David Miller and French pop singer Sebastien Izambard. The band also sings in several languages including English, Italian, Spanish, French and Latin.

In 2004 the band released their self-titled debut and managed to top the charts in several countries with their renditions of Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart" and Frank Sinatra's "My Way". 2005's Ancora and 2006's Siempre met with similar successes. In 2005 the band also released a Christmas Collection that included classic tunes like "O Holy Night", "White Christmas", "When A Child Is Born" and "Ave Maria".

The band is currently working on their fourth as-yet-untitled album set for release on November 18. The effort will be produced by Steve Mac and will include tunes like "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Amazing Grace", "Hallelujah" and "The Power of Love". According to Billboard, "the album will feature material primarily sung in Spanish, English and Italian, and a superstar-level duet is also in the cards".
