Liam Finn Stops in Canada

New Zealand singer-songwriter Liam Finn is hitting the road, first with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, then solo. Finn is the son of musician Neil Finn of the bands Split Enz and Crowded House and he is frontman himself, of the band Betchadupa. In the past he's contributed to a couple of soundtracks including the tune "Lucid Dream" to the film Rain and a cover of the Beatles' "Two of Us", with his father, for the film I Am Sam.

Last year Finn released his debut solo record I'll Be Lightning to critical acclaim. He made the album at his father's recording studio in New Zealand and played the majority of the instruments on the record. The young musician is known for his manic live performances that according to Livedaily, "uses effects pedals to create, sample and loop bass, guitar, drums and vocals to layer with his live vocals and guitar."

This summer he'll be taking that live show on the road to open some shows for Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder's solo tour including one Canadian stop on August 9-10 at Toronto's Massey Hall. Then he'll be going solo on his own headlining tour in September till mid October. He'll be making a couple of Canadian stops, here are the details:

October 4, Toronto, ON El Mocambo
October 5, Montreal, QC La Sala Rosa (Pop Montreal Festival)
